A few more snapshots from after the storm, Smith’s Cove and Plum Street, East Gloucester #blizzard2015.
The red crane has been parked in this location at Smith’s Cove for several weeks. I don’t recall seeing it there in previous years. Does anyone know the story behind the crane?
The DPW tackling the side roads. Thanks Murray!

Isn’t Murray great?! He was the custodian at the library for a little while. All city plowers deserve a great big thank you!

Enjoyed your pictures, Kim, glad we missed the blizzard here in Michigan. We had a big one in Jan. 1967, drifts 20 feet high, our house was buried in snow to the chimney on the wind-side, good this we had a door on the lee side. ~ Thanks for sharing, Kim.

Thank you Ruthe. Wow, 20 foot drifts. I’ve never seen anything like that, but then again, I’ve never spent the winter in Michigan. I thought our little six foot drifts were impressive!

Do kids go sledding on those side roads? I remember sledding with cousins and brothers and lots of laughing fathers from Mt Pleasant Ave down to the monument on East Main Street ~ maybe Highland or Chaple Street ~ so much fun. Thanks for you local photos this evening ~ that sweet memory surfaced 😉

Oh how sweet Mary. Our kids did not go sledding down Highland, because they always went sledding on the hills over at Bass Rocks, with lots of dads and moms catching them at the base, and keeping an eye out for cars.

Thank you Ann and good to hear from you!
Perhaps I’ll attempt driving today. Maybe not though as I have a nice Bolognese sauce in the frig for dinner tonight and would rather not break the spell of wintry coziness.
