    1. I believe it’s a cistern. This establishment is literally in the middle of nowhere and, at least partially, depends on rainfall for its water. I think the box on the right of the photo houses a well-head. There is a single line power line that runs along the access road to supply electricity. I don’t believe I saw any solar panels.

  1. I remember these also – southwest USA: The cattle troughs with a windmill next to it out in the middle of nowhere can be drinkable with some boiling if nothing else can cool you down not the cleanest water if in trough for a long time and not tested non- Potable, many, but doable 🙂 Dave
