Good Afternoon!
The holiday season is once again upon us and here at Action, we’re busy getting ready for Project Uplift, our holiday clothing & toy drive.
I wanted to provide you with some key information in hopes that you would help spread the word throughout Cape Ann. Project Uplift is the largest toy drive in the community, serving children from Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex, & Ipswich. Several local businesses and community groups volunteer each year as donation sites, collecting toys for children ages 0-14. Although we get a large amount of donations through boxes at local businesses, schools, etc., we are not able to give to every child on collected donations alone. We also accept cash donations to provide the remaining gifts on our list.
I’ve attached a press release and flier. If you have any questions or you’d like to get involved, please feel free to contact me or visit our website: http://actioninc.org/projectuplift.html
Thanks so much for your help!

Joey in light of Thanksgiving and the cold weather upon us I thought you may want to post this…The Gloucester Elks Lodge 892 donated 27 brand new blankets to Action Shelter 11/25/2014. These blankets will be distributed to those who for one reason or another may be turned away. The Action Shelter only holds 34 clients at this time.
Thanks

Cynthia Curtis Pottery invites you to the 10th Holiday Student and Studio Potter Show and Sale as part of the Christmas in Rockport Gallery Stroll Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13 and 14.
Celebrating 20 years as a potter and teacher, Cynthia opens her gallery and studio for a festive holiday weekend filled with beautiful stoneware pottery ideal for gift giving. The peaceful pottery nestled in the woods near magnificent quarries and colorful Atlantic coastline is home to Cynthia’s work and has been shared over the years with over one thousand students. Many of the emerging artists from her studio, as well as their talented, experienced teachers, display original ceramics with fresh approaches to functional pottery, at prices you will appreciate!
Student and faculty pieces are displayed for the weekend in the pottery studio while Cynthia’s work is on exhibit nearby in her cozy, wood stove- warmed gallery – an inviting place to shop for the holidays and connect with new and familiar friends over a cup of hot cider and homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Stop by the weekend of the Christmas in Rockport Gallery Stroll, Saturday and Sunday, December 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Artists’ Reception is Saturday, from 4 p.m. –7 p.m. Free admission, refreshments and plenty of parking. All are welcome!

Hey Joey,
Backyard Growers is in the midst of a major crowdsourcing campaign on indiegogo.com to raise money for our first headquarters (no more running the organization from my kitchen table!). It’d be awesome if you could run the attached jpeg a couple times in your blog. Especially on Tuesday, December 3, which is #GivingTuesday. Thanks a bunch.
