  1. The flu killed more people last year in the United States than the ebola outbreak has killed total last twenty years. But we are in a panic, close the borders, quarantine flights, stop all air traffic because of ebola.

Talk about skewed fear and loathing. There has been more press about the nurse’s dog being quarantined then there has been about the yearly influenza epidemic.

But who knows, I am a silver lining type person. I think this ebola outbreak will cause people to fire all politicians who have cut government funding of the CDC and public health mechanisms (easy to spot, just ask the politician if they have signed the no new taxes Breitbart pledge).

And then the next thing that will happen is that everyone will come to their senses and believe real scientists when it comes to vaccines, fluoridation, GMOs, global warming, and the rest of the pseudo-scientific crap being parlayed these days as “listening to both sides of the controversy”.

HAHAHA. I crack myself up. That isn’t going to happen. People are going to blame the head of the CDC for trying to float an organization on half the amount of cash he had when the CDC was almost properly funded.

Crazy is just too much fun to rant about when the real solution, raising taxes and funding government programs like a vaccine for ebola is just too boring to talk about and no one wants to pay one cent more in taxes.

But I digress, back to the flu. As with all of these things, the flu vaccine, there is really no controversy. More people would live if we all got the shot. This year the shot is quadrivalent! Two type A and two type B vaccines all rolled up into one. They have cool names and you can feel the antigenic response right in your arm from the presentation of H1N1 California, H3N2 Texas, Type B Brisbane and Type B Massachusetts. Look, we even got a flu virus named after our state and if you get the shot you won’t be sick as a dog for two weeks because someone coughed Type B Massachusetts on you while sitting at Cape Ann Brew! And maybe you won’t kill that immune compromised child undergoing chemo who lives next door to you.

    ps. Great meme.

  2. Hi Paul, I figure you don’t care if I agree with you or not…in part I do but what you haven’t mentioned is that by getting your kids innoculated their doctors will better be able to treat them
should they contract entrovirus. The symtoms are very similiar and if you remove one virus via
flu shot, chances are the child’s recovery will be more geared to entrovirus.
The additional polio symtoms that are appearing only make this a more serious disease.

I agree 100% about the media fear, and Washington’s inability to get any kind of a handle on Ebola
is scaring a lot of people. We have a bad habit of thinking the government will “fit it”…

For now, let’s let parents make intelligent decisions about their kids…..I can hear you laughing ~
    I can hope can’t I?

As for you, keep those hands clean, and away from your face.

Stay well. Ahaaaa, had my shot last week! I drank the “KoolAid”.
