You know I’ve had life threatening health issues. I asked my AGH cancer doctor when and if I should get a flu shot. He said get one now, it won’t interfere with my chemotherapy. On the way out, the hospital receptionist said she had no idea when the hospital flu shots would be offered, but soon: “Call next week.” Well, I called yesterday, a week later, and they still have no clue. I love my local hospital, Addison Gilbert, but please… Your local discount drug store is ready to help you. Sad.

The flu shot clinic at AGH was yesterday (Oct 2). There is one at BankGloucester on October 9: 3-6PM. These are offered by the Cape Ann Emergency Planning Team. There is no co-pay. The rest are not in Gloucester, but here they are: Oct 16 11-12:30 at Essex Senior Center. Oct 25 11-2 at Essex Police Station. Nov 4 4-7pm at First Ipswich Bank Essex. Nov 12 1:30-4:30 at Hamilton Senior Center. Hope this helps!

So, on the same day that Fred called AGH (Oct.2) and was told it was not available, there was a flu shot clinic going on at that location????

They told me at AGH that nothing was scheduled: “Call next week.” So, as their cancer patient, extremely prone to infection because of chemotherapy, advised by AGH oncology to be inoculated soon, maybe I’ll go to a quickie joint and hope for the best. Or do nothing.

Flu shots at AGH were yesterday from 8 am until 11 am. Did you perhaps call after 11?

Sounds like you spoke an incompetent person. Maybe an uninformed one at that. Good luck. I’m going to cvs too. It was nice to see you strolling along Main Street yesterday. I was in Traffic because a delivery truck hit a car and the street was gridlocked. Stay well.

On October 9 there is one at BankGloucester from 3-6, there is one in Essex on October 16 at the Essex senior center and the 25th at the Essex police station, and on November 4 at first Ipswich bank in Essex. The final one is in Hamilton on November 12 th at the Hamilton senior center….but I hope you will have received yours way before then!
