Niles Pond Swans

* * *
The Ukeladies are learning Harvest Moon–I’d forgotten about this beautiful song and the fairly recent video, released by Neil Young in 2012, is so very sweet.

Wow! Extraordinary! I have never seen a pair of sleeping swans–amazing! And the deep blue water shimmering in the moonlight–wow! Gives me goosebumps—thanks for capturing and sharing such and extraordinary scene.

Thank you ggforevah. I am so glad you like, and don’t think its a snooze post. I went looking for the swans because I thought they would be beautiful in the moonlight, but hadn’t counted on them being asleep.

Thanks Anonymous, Dave, and Donna–I love photographing swans–and was filming at the same time, too. I hope I got some good footage.

Kim, that is “neat”. I have never thought about how swans might put their heads on the pillow. Do they anchor in position somehow or do they float randomly?

They were gently drifting and did not appear to be anchored. One woke up a few times, lifted his head, but only stayed awake for a few moments and then put his head back down on his “pillow.”
