2014 Art Haven Buoy Pre-Auction Party At The Hive
If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times- The Hive and Art Haven have to be either close to or at the very top of a vast majority of organizations involved in making cool events happen in Gloucester.
The positive energy radiating from this place off the chain.
Good people top to bottom and fun times are guaranteed just by being in their presence.
That being said, there is no better time to be in their presence than the annual buoy auction next Friday night when the biggest fundraiser of the year for the organization takes place.
Go and have a fun time and at the same time support a tremendous group of young energetic people who are putting in a ton of energy to make our community a better place.

Are you rockin the hipster man-bun?
Does the “man-bun” appeal to you? Do you think it practical, sexy, or silly, or does it depend on who is wearing?
First Chair author Lauren Salapetek writes:
According to Vaughn Acord, celebrity stylist to the stars, ““the man-bun” is a real statement maker; it oozes confidence and shows character. But, don’t confuse it with a ponytail – the man-bun is definitely manlier; think samurai. It also frames the face, allowing chiseled features to stand out. And, it is best paired with a beard.”
Here are Vaughn’s tips on how to style the man-bun:
STEP 1: Start off on damp hair. Rub a wax through hair from root to tips that will create separation and definition to hair so when it is pulled back, it is not completely slick. Try: V76 by Vaughn V-Rated Wax.
STEP 2: Next, using your hands, loosely pull hair back above the nape of the neck.
STEP 3: Secure with an elastic pony holder, looping hair through, making it appear as effortless as possible.
STEP 4: You can either wear it completely slick back or leave it as is, but for a slicked look, apply a grooming cream to get rid of any flyaways.

A new look for FOBs Donna Ardizzoni & Rick Moore
You know Donna Ardizzoni from her GMG posts, beautiful photos, One Hour At A Time Gang and, most importantly, her indomitable enthusiasm!
What you may not know is what she, and her husband, Rick Moore, do for their day jobs. Check out their brand new website (built by yours truly) and you’ll find out. This is another one of our websites that uses responsive design, which means that it automatically adjusts its design to the device you’re using. More and more people access the Web from their phones and tablets. That’s why nearly all the new websites we build use responsive design techniques that allow you to show different things on different devices using the same exact content and code. Here’s how the new site looks on a computer:
Below you’ll see two images that show how it looks on an iPhone held portrait (the way you hold it when you’re using it as a phone — that is, to talk). Notice how the menu system is completely different on the iPhone. When you tap the menu icon (the 3 horizontal lines on the right above Rick’s picture in the image on the left) the menu drops down automatically as you can see in the image on the right. This menu and the horizontal menu, that you see in the image above, both use the exact same HTML code and content.
Just in case you were wondering, it looks even better on my Samsung Galaxy SIII than it does on the iPhone. See that to the right.
It looks great on an iPad too. And when you rotate your device from portrait to landscape, the design changes with you, to accommodate the new aspect ratio.
Now for the good part. If you ever need any help with your computers, networks, backups, virus scanners, or medical billing and accounting you really should call Rick and Donna. They truly are the best at what they do!
Here’s a quick example. Before we knew Donna & Rick, we had someone upgrade our network. We were down for a day and it took all night — literally. Vickie didn’t sleep a wink. I finally went to bed in frustration. But Vickie is our network administrator, so she stayed up to see it through. Since then, Rick has upgraded our network twice and each time we weren’t even down long enough for me to go take a pee. Oh, and did I mention, everything just worked — instantly. No problems. No data lost. Just faster … lots faster!

Like, bring it all and heap it on my shoulders. More times than not you could be the goat but you just don’t care. You step up and say bring that shit to me.
Fire away. Take your best shot. I can’t imagine the frustration that comes with being a goalie.
This video pretty much sums it up though.

Celebrating 300 Years At The First Congregational Church of Hamilton
Good morning, Joey.
I’m wondering if it would be possible for you to post this on GMG sometime this week? We’d love to have a great turn-out next Saturday (this is the first of three period concerts to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the First Congregational Church of Hamilton), and it’s not very often that the Handel and Haydn Society comes to the North Shore. And not only are they coming to our “neck of the woods,” but seats are only $15!
Thanks so much,
Patricia
Dear friends,
You DO NOT want to miss the opportunity to see a select ensemble from the internationally known Handel and Haydn Society performing right here in Hamilton in the First Congregational Church sanctuary on Saturday, January 25, at 7:00 p.m.
Highlights of this concert, which is part of our year-long 300th celebration, will include a harpsichordist and many classic eighteenth-century selections.
Information and tickets for this and other upcoming concerts are available online at www.fcchamilton.org.
Please feel free to forward this e-mail to your friends and neighbors.
