Being a clammer and mussel lover, I don’t think I’d eat any of those. Either picked over by the gulls, or stranded high and dry too long. I do like to eat mussels. I hope you’re having a wonderful birthday my friend!

And to think today pay all kinds of money for mussels in a store – in days past pick them off fresh prior to the their licensing jurisdictions and, and under the purview of local shellfish constables and wardens. Other than any concerns about (Red Tide) – didn’t see much in 50’s and 60’s that I remember…affected shellfish.
