Curmudgeons at least can be amusing in their negativity. There’s never anything amusing about stink.
Is the stinky guy a nice person? – you can always talk to someone at a comfortable distance. Personally I’d rather talk to a nice person no matter how they smell than a negative person who has nothing nice to say. Toxicity in my energy space is much worse to me than a bad smell.
Curmudgeon. Negativity can be ignored, but bad body odor — not ever —
no matter how nice the person may be. Water & soap are not that tough to come by.

Curmudgeon guy gets my vote – I’m a mom I can tune out chatter but I can’t tune out smells.

Curmudgeon guy. It’s so much fun to get ’em all worked up about some random subject.

Talking with either of them is better than having to talk to Ron Jeremy.

I would have to go with the cumudgeon and maybe cheer him/her up. Bad smells are impossible to tolerate, especially bad body smells! ewwwww …
