I’m getting to know birds, as we have three parakeets. They always have their eyes peeled for predators who want to eat them, and then looking for food. Their behavior is mysterious to me, but this is what I’ve learned.

Thanks Fred. I really like these birds they are very active and seem friendly when we are on the kayaks. Always we leave them be. Do talk to them though take care

Our birds seem to know our appearance and voices. They’re on alert when you enter the room, but then go back to their bird business when they see you and hear your voice. Amazing!

My grandmother in Bayview has a very smart parrot – and one day the mail man knocked on her door while she was not there (parrot named polly -trained to say “nobody’s home, and Polly wants a cracker.” drove the mailman crazy keep saying open the door Mildred. He finally gave up!:-(

Great shot Donna. I love cormorants – they are so prehistoric looking, especially when drying their wings.
