Shep Abbott Coincidentally Took a Picture Of A Sign Before It Went Missing and Asked Me To Post The Picture of Said Sign For Him

Shep happened to have a picture of a sign he “noticed” before it was removed.  He asked me to post it. So here you go.

Shep writes-

I’m attaching a photo of a sign I noticed at Grant Circle which subsequently disappeared. I wonder who might have removed it. Perhaps you’d like to publish the photo with a query as to who might have removed it. Thanks ..

Must have been some no good hippie with nothing better to do because he wasn’t at work.

  1. Perhaps, someone, not me, removed it because it was visual pollution and not for another reason. Perhaps someone was tired of all the yard sale and realtor signs that make our beautiful Gloucester less attractive. The sign was on public land. Did Shep petition the proper goverment agencies to post his sign on public land, I am sure that he did not. Honestly, I think that it is no different than if someone dumped a bag of trash at the same spot on the rotary. Hey Shep, post your sign on your personal property, oh that’s right, you don’t own any. So since we have to share public space please, respect those that have a say, and don’t create any more visual pollution.

  2. I’m pretty sure in order to post something at that spot at the rotary the sign must be approved by the chamber. I know in the past I have worked with groups that have posted items there and have had them removed as well.
