Pics From Donna Ardizzoni- Ed Collard voluteering at Stage Fort Park, Greg Bover Stage Fort Park, Stage Fort Park Volunteer Steve Noble

There have been more and more people who love our city getting involved in helping to keep it clean and sprucing up areas. People like Donna Ardizzoni, Bobby Gillis, Ed Collard , Bob Hastings and others who partipate in the Saturday morning one hour at a time gang. This past Saturday many Gloucester Rotarians volunteered to spruce up Stage Fort Park.

Do you love Gloucester and have some spare time? Perhaps you would like to meet some new people that feel the same way about our city and want to get out and get active. You too can become a DOER in the community. If you are interested in volunteering around town in any capacity drop me a comment and I’ll put you in touch with people that might just have the perfect volunteering opportunity for you. I guarantee you will develop an even stronger sense of community and you could even make some great friends along the way. Here are some pictures of the fine folks that showed uplast Saturday-

The Farm Bar and Grille Tiki Bar Construction Pics

The Boys From The Farm Write-

Hey Joey-

We are building an outdoor tiki bar to add to the dining experience in our backyard.  It will feature frozen drinks along with plastic bottles and cans.  This will give horseshoe and volleyball players more access to food and beverages. Additionally, we are building a seating area for our ice cream patrons so they will be blocked off from the parking lot.

You gotta give it up to these guys.  They innovate!

Have you considered signing up for Flickr for free and adding your pictures to the Good Morning Gloucester Flickr Group Pool?  It’s really not that hard I swear, and you can be part of the fun.  If you don’t know how to upload photos to Flickr let us know and we will put up a video demo for you (or at the very least provide a link to the Flickr help page where they can guide you through)

Rockport Music single tickets go on sale April 5

Rockport Music announces that single tickets for performances of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival (June 10 – July 18) and Rockport Music Presents (July 24 – August 8) go on sale Monday, April 5 at 10:00 a.m. This will be the organization’s inaugural season in the Shalin Liu Performance Center, which opens on June 10. Subscriptions, series tickets that include four or more concerts, went on sale March 15. Thus far, Rockport Music has experienced an unprecedented demand for tickets, far out-pacing all previous seasons.  Out of a total of 24 concerts, a few are almost sold out, including pianist Garrick Ohlsson (June 10), violinist Midori (July 18), and Rockport native Paul Cole (August 7).  Good seats are still available for many concerts, but it’s recommended that patrons reserve their ticket soon.

The 2010 Rockport Chamber Music Festival will feature many of today’s foremost soloists and ensembles. Programs includes pianists Giles Vonsattel, Marc-André Hamelin, and Rockport Music’s Artistic Director David Deveau; the Borromeo, Jupiter, Biava and Brentano String Quartets; the Boston Trio; Boston Brass; the early music ensemble Parthenia (consort of viols); and the all-male vocal ensemble Cantus. A new series, Rockport Music Presents, offers leading jazz, world music, and pop artists, including Paul Cole, clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera, jazz pianist Bill Charlap, and violinist Regina Carter.

Starting April 5, single tickets may be purchased by visiting www.rockportmusic.org, calling 978-546-7391 (M-F, 10-4), or dropping by the Rockport Music Box Office at 21 Broadway in Rockport, Massachusetts (M-F, 10-4). Senior discounts are available. To make Rockport Music’s concerts more accessible to young people, $12 tickets will be available for students age 19-25 and free-of-charge for youth age 18 and younger (limited capacity).
