Rhumb Line’s Thursday Night’s Blues Party, Saturday at Lat 43, Sunday outta town

Whew! A busy week ahead as I plow myself even deeper into the electrical field, so, here goes:
Thursday nite at the Rumline: We got ‘er again: Ms. Lisa Marie, The unobliviated Queen of da blooz, Hip-shakin’ her way thru yet another evening of frenzy. Backing her up will be our old friend and keyboard octopus, Mr. Cliff Spencer. Also, Forrest”Frosty” Padgett on the drumbulators as well as Greg T. on glitar. Me, myself and I complete this five piece septet. Another great nite!
Then,on Saturday nite, look out for miasmic gas attacks, as I hit the stage at Blat 43 to make a mess out of the Mike O’connell band. Joey Scrima’s drumbing, with Mike and Jat Appt trying to keep it cool. Fat chance.
And Sunday I’ll be at Glenn’s Cool Bar and Restaurant in Nbpt.
with Justin Quinn and his sweet and sore band. It’s a lot of fun playin’ with these clowns, among whom will be Jon Ross, Per Hanson and Curtis “Lemay” Haines, the Pope of Nbpt. Hours are 6 to9, food is great, so , bring a date and dine by the whites of her eyes!
Oops! cops bangin’ on my door…Gotta go! Seeya!

Garfish will be performing Saturday June 6TH at  Elliott’s At the Blackburn from 8:30-11:30pm. They will be performing their own renditions of classic rock songs from the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s by artists like: The Beatles, Chicago, Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Aerosmith. Along with some contemporary songs by Dropkick Murphys and others.
Elliott’s is located at the historic landmark which once housed the legendary Blackburn Tavern at 2 Main St. Gloucester.

For those of you who haven’t seen this yet:
Do you want to be part of the June 20th Block Party? Here’s your chance to see your photography big and beautiful! Good Morning Gloucester is hosting a community slide show featuring the first 150 photos we receive that meet the criteria below:
1. One submission per person
2. High resolution jpg image-
3. Must be Gloucester-related with a recognizable location
4. Must not be offensive or in poor taste
5. Must include your name so we can give you credit (We will use an alias if you request it)
6. Agree to allow GMG to use your photo in the slide show on and off the internet (your photo will not be sold or used commercially)
7. Submit your entry by June 5.
We know there are Gloucester photos out there in shoe boxes or on a hard drive just waiting to be seen. Dig them out and if you need help getting your print or negative scanned, we can suggest ways to get it done.

Things To Do- Watch The Dory Race Elimination Races Saturday
Saturday, 8:30 a.m., Niles Beach – The Elimination Races will be held to determine who will represent the US vs. Canada on June 20th.
If you’ve been watching the GMG coverage of the International Dory Races and the building of the dories at Geno Mondello’s shop, if you want to buy some raffle tickets for the handline dory, if you want to share part in a great Gloucester tradition-
Head on down to Niles beach tomorrow morning for the elimination races.
It’s a great thing to take the family to and you can register to become part of the action, you can buy t shirts, get row hard or row home bumper stickers.
Here’s the scenario- you pack the kids in the car, go to Last Stop Variety, grab a cup of coffee and one of their incredible muffins (blueberry and morning glory are awesome) and then go to Niles to catch the action.

I have to admit when the guys that opened this place were getting it ready I thought that it was too bad for them because the location had been host to 3 or 4 different failed restaurants in the past 7 years or so.
Boy am I glad I was wrong. They are KILLING IT! The place is packed night in and night out and there has been NO LET UP in the amount of patronage they have enjoyed.
Look for video with the boys tomorrow.

Through the month of June, I have a photo exhibit at the First National Bank of Ipswich (next to Walgreen’s on Rogers St. here in Gloucester) with Good Harbor Beach as the focus. Joey will join me with his great GHB shots. Come down to the bank and check out the many moods of GMG’s favorite beach!
