Dollar Shave Club Unboxing and Razor Video Review With Joey C From goodmorninggloucester.com

Best Razor I’ve Ever Used And It’s Not Even Close (‘cept the shave that is)…

The heft and solid feel of the handle they send you, the smoothness of the shave, the way lower cost.  Dollar Shave Club IS AN ABSOLUTE NO BRAINER.  It’s a downright luxurious shaving experience and it is one third the cost of buying Gillette Razors.

You can sign up, try it for one month and if you don’t like it cancel.  There is no question in my mind that once you try it you won’t go back.  Perfect stocking stuffer gift.  $6

Join The Dollar Shave Club Here

This was the original post which led me to ordering signing up for Dollar Shave Club about a week ago-

In light of my recent shaving disaster I’m taking my boy Rick Doucette’ (among other people’s) advice.  Literally 7 different people emailed me today telling me how much they dig the dollar saving club service.

Rick Says These Razors Are Great and They Ship You 4 New Blades Each Month for $6 Including Shipping and Handling.

image

What a handsome son of a gun the Rick Doucette is.

So for $72 a year I’ll get 48 Blades.  Way Less Than Gillette razors for the same quality shave.  I get to toss the blades once a week and use a fresshie.  They give you a free handle and if you don’t like the razors you simply quit without any obligation.  No Brainer city baby.

I ordered the middle of the line razors-

charting the paths for plastic soup patches of our oceans

Catherine Ryan submits

Hi Joey,

It’s not beach balls and rubber duckies. Great time lapse visualizations of how garbage moves around our oceans to the 6 largest patches (they used surface drifter buoys with GPS sensors).

“What we found is patches are international problem…It’s not that plastic from one country ends up in one particular patch; quite the contrary, all of the plastic ends up in all the patches and all are interconnected in a way we didn’t know before”. One big evolve take away: invent plastic that disintegrates. Less intimidating do it yourself adjustments: easy stuff at home here http://www.plasticfreeguide.com/

B.B. King of gospel steel guitar on 104.9 tomorrow (SUN) 9AM

Calvin Cooke – the B.B. King of gospel steel guitar

Calvin Cooke, leader of The Slide Brothers and known as the B.B. King of gospel steel guitar, will be Aurelia Nelson’s guest on her North Shore 104.9 FM show Curtain Up tomorrow (SUN) at 9am.  Calvin calls in from the road where he and his band are touring the U.S. in support of their new CD Robert Randolph Presents: The Slide Brothers.

Guitar Worlds says, “The Slide Brothers … tackle rock, funk and blues with a ferocity that will startle fans of Duane Allman, Derek Trucks and Muddy Waters.”  Listen to this amazing version of the Allman Brothers’ classic Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’ from their new CD.

The Slide Brothers’ only New England concert is next Saturday, Nov 2 (after the Red Sox will have won the World Series) just down the road at Beverly’s fully restored, historic Larcom Theatre.  There are still some good seats left (especially in the gorgeous horseshoe Balcony — see here).

Local virtuoso and recent Berklee grad, Michael Thomas Doyle opens the show with his band — Cody Nilsen on guitar/vocals, Bill Spencer on bass, and Steve Russo (of Runaround and Mile 21) on drums .  This will be your only chance to catch the greatest living masters of Slide Guitar so close to home — and support one of our local rising stars at the same time.  Get tickets now.  Watch them play the Hendrix Classic, Foxy Lady!
