Cape Ann Preschool is a play-based preschool program and, according to their website blend academic school readiness, social skills, and developmentally appropriate learning for children ages 2.9 -6. Our friend Aurelia Nelson just keeps the local stars coming on her fascinating North Shore 104.9 radio show Curtain Up and tomorrow (Sunday) is no exception.  Local singer/songwriters Chelsea Berry and Bang-A-Song Studio owner Tony Goddess will be Aurelia’s guests.  Worth getting up to listen in at 9am!

Music Updates – Renee & Joe on TV and the Goddesses play the Rhumbline

Renee & Joe on Local Music Seen with Allen Estes on Cape Ann TV Channel 12 Wednesday (tonight), at 6:30pm and airs again Friday at 1:30pm and Sunday at 6pm.

20130430_155500CrippleCoveThe Cripple Cove Quintet featuring The Goddesses will be performing three sets of pre-Beatles and Pub Rock at The Rhumb Line on Friday, May 3rd starting at 9:30pm.   The CCQ consists of husband and wife harmonizing duo Tony and Samantha Goddess plus Pete Koeplin on drums, Ryan Alto on bass, and Geoff Small on guitar.  No Cover/21+.

Cape Ann once again featured in The Noise ~ Rockport Show Recommended for This Saturday

Last month I pointed out that The Noise Magazine recommended two Gloucester shows for the week of Oct 22, putting us on par with Cambridge (see post here).  Well there’s a new Noise issue out and this week they recommend a Rockport show (see here) specifically Amy Black with Megan Burtt at the Old Sloop Coffeehouse.  Congrats Amy Black, Megan Burtt, Old Sloop (tickets here) and Rockport!  Oh, and I guess I have to congratulate myself on being right again.  I picked this show in this post .  Here are two more videos from these rising stars, just in case you weren’t convinced by the ones I posted last week.

Now for tonight, there’s a special treat at Minglewood: Tony & Samantha Goddess will share the stage with KBMG.  You don’t get to see all these talented artists sharing the stage very often so take advantage.

The Goddesses

Last night we caught the end of The Goddesses’ set at Giuseppe’s. It’s open mic every Wednesday night at Giuseppe’s from 7:30- 10:30.  Tony and Sam sound beautiful together and played a variety of fun, funny, and upbeat love songs. I hope to hear more from this rockin’ duo!

Hey Joey,
As requested, Tony and I made the rounds of Fenway before the Jenny Dee set with GMG in full effect.  We got some great ones from before the show and before sound check, and a couple from on the floor during the Geils set (look at him preening in the JumboTron in the background!).  The show really went off without a hitch, and we had a hell of a time!

They will be rocking Harbor Loop as part of the Thursday Night Harbor Loop Concert Series tonight Thursday!

Hey Joey,
Glad I ran into you yesterday.  So what should we do?
— I gotta get a GMG sticker in case Sam and I can snap a pic from the stage in front of the fans.  Or maybe just backstage with Wolf!
–We’ll be at Harbor Loop today so any coverage would be great.  We’re gonna run our Fenway set at the top of our second set tonight.
–I’ll be around on Friday in case you want to hook up before the show on Sat. We’re gigging a festival in Bethlehem, PA on Sunday and driving back Monday.  Will be around Tuesday if you want to do some kind of wrap up or maybe I’ll have a souvenir or something.
I think that’s it.  Next local gig on the books is the Rhumbline Oct. 9th though there’s a chance of Celebrate Gloucester over Labor Day weekend.
