RECORD BREAKING OCTOBER BOMB CYCLONE STORM HITS #GLOUCESTERMA LEAVING IN ITS WAKE UPROOTED TREES, GROUNDED BOATS, ROUGH SEAS OVER DOGBAR, TWIN LIGHTS, BACKSHORE, INNER HARBOR
The definition of a ‘bomb cyclone’ is one that drops in pressure by at least 24 millibars in 24 hours or less. As this storm intensified, the central pressure dropped to a new record for lowest pressure during October in our area.

Shoreline, home, and garden have been hard hit by the third nor’easter to take place this March. The waves and spindrifts were magnificent, taking a short drive around the back shore this morning, but it was difficult to observe the further damage to coastline habitats.

As one bank of clouds departed, another soon took its place. The waves were wild and wooly but the surfers were out in full force at GHB and Brace Cove.

Not for the faint of heart–from where I was standing way across on the other side of the Cove you could hear the roar of the waves slamming Brace Rock–would you ever try this?
