The definition of a ‘bomb cyclone’ is one that drops in pressure by at least 24 millibars in 24 hours or less. As this storm intensified, the central pressure dropped to a new record for lowest pressure during October in our area.

I was fortunate enough to witness this encounter that a boy had with a baby seal in Wonson Cove today. I’m not sure who had the bigger smile when it was over, but they were both very happy! North Shore Kid
This sailboat ran hard aground courtesy of Hurricane Bob on August 19th, 1991. Twenty years ago, Bob was the last hurricane to make landfall on the New England coast. The storm caused extensive damage and seventeen fatalities, resulting in the name Bob being retired from the list of Hurricane names.
