Motif #1 back in the 70’s Photo Number 2 From Len Burgess

Here’s a 35mm shot of the original Motif #1 back in the 70’s.
You can see it was a patched-up rugged old building.
Also, thanks Joey for including the information of the Digital Photo Workshop at the Essex Shipbuilding Museum,
It filled up very quickly.

Motif #1 in 1971

From my 35mm archives this was the original Motif #1 before it was destroyed by a storm in Feb. 1978. That’s my old 1968 wooden Carver.

No crowded harbors in those days. Just tie up anywhere and stay overnight.
A long way up the ladder when the tide was out.

Frank Hassler of Rockport Daffodil Photo

Peter Webber Writes-

Hi Joey. Attached is a photo taken last week by Frank Hassler of Rockport.  These daffodil bulbs were planted abundantly last fall at numerous high visibility sites throughout the town by the Rockport Garden Club, and are now reaching full bloom everywhere.

From Rocky Neck #3

Had the great good fortune to spend a Sunday morning on a friend’s deck at the very end of Rocky Neck during the 2010 Gloucester Schooner Festival. There were many vessels heading out to join the Labor Day Parade of Boats.

Thanks to Frank Garrison for sending this in. I can’t place it exactly but if I had to guess it looks like it’s near beacon Marine where the Tuna wharf is.

Gino Cavalieri Photo

Yesterday Morning When going for coffee I ran into Paulie Walnuts just as the sun was getting to rise at Good Harbor.

I was setting up my tripod to take a pic or ten and Gino Cavelieri introduced himself to Paulie and I and asked for a few pointers on how to capture the sunrise.  I gave him the pointers that I knew and took him through some of his camera settings while Paulie gave him a GMG sticka.

Here is one of Geno’s shots from yesterday morning-
