Joey,

I’m sharing on behalf of Veterans Director, City of Gloucester that went to Boston for this event.

Ward 2, City Councillor

RICHARD E. BARBATO WRITES-

Councillor,

Thought you might want to see these, from the common in Boston, over 33,000 flags were placed and they read off the names of those from the Commonwealth who were killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan (The parents of the young men who were killed read the names, it was really tough to get through).

This Is A Man’s Scarf Damnit!

Well at the Mass Cultural Council Meeting at Fred Bodin’s I was envious of my pal Melissa Cox’ super soft scarf.  I asked her to make me one and she gave me the one around her neck.  Such a good egg that Melissa.

Wore it home and when I entered the door I was greeted by someone I may or may not be related to through marriage with a quizzical look.  I asked her “What with the look?” To which she replied- “You know that’s a girls scarf, right?”

Upon further inspection the pattern is a little frilly.  So I returned the scarf and asked Melissa to make me a new scarf which I would pay for that had a more manly pattern.

So we sauntered (yes sauntered) over to Coveted Yarn and picked out a manly scarf design and some new yarn.

It was a daunting task with the bazillion different types of yarns and thicknesses or yarns and yarns with different yarn properties, some of which need to be hand washed, some of which can be thrown in the washing machine- anyway I learned way more about yarn than any man should ever need to know about yarn.

With some guidance from The Yarn Pimp- Roberto we picked out a super soft yarn for the scarf which my pal Melissa would be producing for me just in time for the balmy days of spring.

You can see the pattern and yarn we picked out below-

Straight sexy, right?

And here’s the yarn being made into a cake at Coveted Yarn-

Yo Councilor Cox Can We Kindly Request Turbine Results?

Per our discussion in the GMG comment section I contend that if the energy produced and saved results were made available online that it would make the proponents happy and the skeptics happy if the results are what they’ve been projected.

Without the data the general public whose tax dollars erre used in part to fund it are left to (pardon the pun) drift in the wind.

Can you request that at one of your meetings?

Anyone else who would be interested in tjis data chime in on the vomments to this pist as well.

TIA Melissa Full On Footie Duck Jammie Cox 🙂

Rose LoPiccolo Reports-

Hi Joey!

Glad to hear it was a success down on the dock!  I don’t have as many photos of different locations as I would like to have had.  I checked in at Stage Fort Park – and there was a group hard at work spreading mulch, not sure but i think it was the Rotary Club – I’ll double check that for you.  Then I got a call  from Laurel Tarantino asking if anyone was looking for a spot to clean – she was at the lower end of Essex Avenue  – the marsh stretch to Dunkin Donuts… so I decided to head down there to give her a had for a bit before I bounced around to check in with everyone,  I ended up staying there all morning and never went anywhere else!  While we were cleaning – A Hiltz truck stopped and took about 8 bags for us – we ended up picking up about 20 bags just from that little stretch!!!!

Thank you so much for all your help and I really love my cool GMG metalic sticker!!!!
