Here’s another comparison of The Red Baron lobster boat model and Mark Ring’s lobster boat The Stanley Thomas. Note the same windows in the trunk cabin. Note the same color scheme. Note the same hand rails along the roof. Mark Ring has since taken the windows out of the trunk cabin in The Stanley Thomas (the photo was taken in 2002).

Normally I wouldn’t post a picture of a Lobster Boat Model but in this case, this particular lobster boat model looked almost like an exact replica of the Stanley Thomas, Mark Ring’s Lobster Boat. They sell these models at The GMHC gift shop.

Lobstermen are starting to gear up for the coming season. They go through the rope and take out knots. They clean and repair the traps. They paint buoys. It’s coming. As the water warms the lobsters will be on the move and our lobstermen will be ready to catch em.

This is an updated version of the old “Freaks Of The Lobster and Crab World Slide Show”. I doubt anyone else has a collection of pictures that they’ve taken first hand of this many mutations.
I’m not one to mix up my seafood in one dish. If I’m gonna have shrimp in my pasta, I don’t want lobster in there too. If I’m gonna have lobster newburg I only want lobster, not scallops too.
I’m crazy like that though. I know plenty of friends of mine that when we go to Passports have to get this dish every time.

Ok…I went out last night, listened to some music, had a couple of beers.
Got up this morning. Opened the fridge to get OJ. Jumped out of my skin as this guy reached out and scared the crap outta me.

It was good to see many of the restaurants had lobsters . What was even bettter was that they were leading with them as specials for not a ton of money. One fancy outdoor cafe had a lobster dinner for $15.99 While a low price isn’t great for fishermen, it’sgood that the product is getting good visability so when the economic downturn les up people and chefs still have lobster on thier brain.

I took this with a disposable camera a few years ago. I can’t swim so I stay pretty close to the shore. Anthony Scola threw me a lobster one time I was out there. Had to stare a his beady little eyes all the way back to the beach. Uh, the lobster’s, not Anthony’s! —Sharon
East Gloucester is a great place to walk, especially with a camera. I like to take close-up shots of ordinary things. It makes me more aware of design and patterns in everything. —-Sharon
