We’re joining a musical health club this week and exercising our synapses with that top ‘o the heap pied piper and malarky master, Mr. Dennis Brennan. No relation to Walter. Big D has turned out to be a favorite around these parts, causing swooning women and male consternation. He comes fully equipped with a fabulous set of pipes, a harmonica, and a repertoire so vast as to inspire nosebleeds. My favorite singer!

He’ll be backed by an all-star cast featuring Mr. Matt “Dillon” Stubbs, on catarrh, and Broomful ‘o Blues drumpeter, Mr. Chris “Craft” Rivelli, a veritable powerhouse of the Blues foundry system. Both Matt and Chris have travelled the world incessantly and extensively, spreading the word with the likes of James Cottontail, or Jerry Porntoy, or Roomful or is it somebody else? I can’t remember. But you won’t forget the incessant carnal pounding of the boogie beat as you suck down that sixth beer…. It’s gonna be a blast.! See ya there!

Boy… a year goes by pretty quickly, but it’s that time again to ROCK… “Rock The Boat For Alzheimer’s” that is… This is an annual event sponsored by Deborah Lattof, who is a Nurse and an Assisted Living Coordinator at Sunrise Assisted Living in Lynnfield. Our first year was so much fun and such a great success we couldn’t wait to do it again…. and here it is! Ticket’s are $25.00 per person and for this (…besides that warm feeling you’ll get in your belly for helping this most worthy cause), you will get a 3 hour, sunset tour aboard The Privateer IV, a Hot & Cold Buffet, and live entertainment from your “Classic Rock Connection, Full Circle. There will also be a cash bar, a 50/50 raffle and multiple prize raffles! We’ve already started collecting donations, but have a little ways to go so if you would like to donate a gift for the raffle it would be most welcome and whole-heartedly appreciated. Home made jewelry, art, gift certificates, gift cards, a weekend get away, overnight stay, anything you’d like to give for this most worthy of cause’s, we would appreciate. We promise this will be probably the most fun you can have for $25.00 and all while helping people that really need it! They are making progress every day in the treatment for this debilitating, horrendous and deadly disease, your help is needed and will help get us there to the day that we find a cure! We hope and pray all the people that joined us last year, will join us again! It was just too fun, lol! If you’d like to donate a gift for the raffle, or if you’d like to donate food for the hot cold buffet, please contact Deb Lattof at deb5465261@yahoo.com or call her at 978-239-2887 or you can contact Wes Thibodeau at bomber222002@yahoo.com or 978-491-8101 or of course here on facebook. VIVA! VIVA! VIVA!
Back for our 3rd season by popular demand, and suitable for ALL AGES, this original musical about the 82 year history of Gloucester, MA’s famed Greasy Pole tournament (part of St. Peter’s Fiesta), is sure to delight audiences of all ages. It tells the story of 4 generations of Scolafazza men who, because of Mama’s curse in 1931, never walked the pole. A story of redemption and courage, food, family and faith, this show has lots of laughs and exciting original music that will have you dancing in the aisles. Greasy Pole, The Musical! is not to be missed!
Join us for TWO SPECIAL PERFORMANCES: Sunday, June 30th at 10pm. Right after the show we walk right out the door and join the procession to put St. Peter to bed. Our Annual tradition!
We will also have a special performance on July 4th, Independence Day at 8pm! Come celebrate with us! (less)

The 55th Annual Grammy Awards airs Sunday night at 8:00–a perfect end to a snow-bound weekend. My hoped-for winner is FUN., with the always fabulous featured artist Janelle Monáe. Good Luck FUN.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you win all six categories for which you are nominated, including Best New Artist, Record, Album, and Song of the Year. Although Fun. has been together for a few years, to be nominated for Best New Artist I believe the criteria is to have released at least one album, but not more than three (please correct me if incorrect). FUN. is performing Sunday night. I hope we don’t lose power!
We are Young (acoustic version).
On Friday Feb. 2, Michael Bergen of “Top Secret Science and Math” came to do some activities with the students of St. Ann School. I’m not sure who had more fun, he or the kids! I stopped in to take some photos and to see what he would do (I love hands-on science stuff…). I couldn’t stay long, but I got some shots that show how much fun everyone was having – the kids making rubber balls from water and powdery crystals, and Michael Bergen throwing fire from his hands…
