Sunday, March 2 at 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.  at the First Presbyterian Church, 179 County Road, Ipswich, MA.
Join the choir for an evening of musical celebration and stories featuring music from the North Shore Men’s Choir and various choirs from the First Presbyterian Church, Ipswich.  Personal stories of transformation from former gang members and rivals who now serve as youth workers with Straight Ahead Ministries to reach other youth at risk (www.straightahead.org).   This event is free and open to all ages.  All are welcome.

It’s never going to sink in is it? ARGHHHHHH!!!!!

I should really just submit and resign myself that there are people that no matter what you do or say or how many times it’s repeated, they will refuse to use a search engine.

Need to get me one of those LMGTFY T Shirts, baseball caps and whatever other products they come up with.  If they have a car wrap I’ll buy one of those too.

Hi Joey

Did I miss the posting of One Billion Rising on GMG?  Coming up on FRIDAY FEB 14. Peeps looking on GMG but haven’t seen it yet!

Thnx so much!
Name Removed , LMHC

Response:

No it was posted three times.  a search would provide the links

there is a search box and there is also google.

might i suggest the search terms one billion rising and goodmorninggloucester.

Here are the results

There are no less than 5 results.

Now the thing that really tends to get me going more than having to point out that search engines exists is that when you suggest that search engines exist to most people, they seem genuinely indignant and feel like you are singling them out for being a dummy.

I should note that this is not the case with the person who sent me this email who I am sure is a very lovely person.

This note to those who refuse to use search engines –

GOOGLE- PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD- TAKE ONE MINUTE OF YOUR LIFE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO POINT YOUR BROWSER IN THE DIRECTION OF GOOGLE AND TYPE IN YOUR SEARCH QUERY.

WEBMASTERS AROUND THE GLOBE WILL REJOICE- THE WORLD WILL BE A BETTER PLACE!

I MAY PLAN MY OWN ONE BILLION RISING EVENT TO RAISE AWARENESS OF PEOPLE WHO REFUSE TO USE SEARCH ENGINES.

*note: If this email was a joke in response to last week’s post linked below then I hope you burn in hell.

How much could I charge for a seminar to teach people how to look for things on the internet using a search engine?

Wednesday Feb 12th 2014 Cape Ann Forecast..

Marine Forecast …
Wed: N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt…becoming NE around 5 kt in the afternoon. Seas around 2 ft.

Wed Night: SE winds 5 to 10 kt. Seas 1 foot or less.

Today mostly sunny cold after morning lows in single digits temps will only rise to mid to upper 20’s with north northwest winds 10-15 mph..
Wednesday night increasing clouds lows around 20-25 degrees .. Late night snows break out well after midnight .. Thursday heavy snow in the morning going over to sleet / freezing rain then rain by 11am to noontime ..highs in the upper 30’s with se winds 20-25 mph increasing to 25-35mph by late Thursday afternoon and evening .. Thursday night heavy rain early with damaging winds possible , gusting over 55mph ! Winds turn north northeast late evening rain changes back to snow .. 3-6″ total ..
Over view / LP tracks from OBX to just SE of ACK , this track will likely induce Warmer air to come from off the ocean with water temps in 30’s . How ever I’m not sold on this and think it’s possible as LP intensifies off ACK it creates “DYNAMIC COOLING” which would crash the temps with all heights above us creating a quicker transition back to snow. Something to watch for Thursday . Also watch for damaging wind potential .. More later today with special video update on impending storm .. Thank u for reading and viewing …

Calling All Chocolate Lovers ~ Happy Valentine’s Day ~ with a Gorgeous Gift of the Most Decadently Delicious Chocolate Cake Ever!

Divine and To Die-for Flourless Chocolate Cake Recipe From Our Friends Chef Matt Beach and Meghan Pozzi

Last week I had a fabulous and fun evening taking Chef Matt’s and Meghan’s Decadent Desserts cooking class, held at Savour Wine and Cheese. I was planning to post this on Valentine’s Day, but thought that if you want to make the cake for your loved ones for Friday, I had better share today. And, if you don’t have time to make the cake, please contact Chef Matt and Savour Wine and Cheese. They will be happy to make this yummiest of cakes for you!

Oftentimes flourless chocolate cakes seem somewhat leaden-like to me. Have you had that experience? That simply is not the case with Matt and Meghan’s recipe. This is the dreamiest and most cloud-like chocolate cake imaginable! My family loves my chocolate cake with lemon frosting and they will barely allow to me make any other cakes for birthdays. I think they may change their minds after sampling this cake! My daughter Liv is coming home next week and I’ll post a photo then.

Ocean pollution met fashion this weekend at the launch of the Vortex Project – a collaboration between Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, Bionic Yarn and Cookies for All to turn ocean debris into recyclable fashion. The New York Fashion Week event was held at the American Museum of Natural History under the blue whale with press, fashion industry professionals and celebrities gathered to learn about the first project of the collaboration — Raw for the Oceans, a line of blue jeans with partners G-Star.

Ocean Alliance CEO Iain Kerr was invited to join the lineup of speakers to talk about our work in the collection of data concerning the invisible pollutants that collect in the bodies of marine mammals and ultimately humans. He described the oceans as the blue heart and blood of this planet – the life support system, “And as any NASA astronaut knows, when life support goes down, all is lost.”

Pet of the Week- Oberon

oberon

Hello, My name is Oberon, I am a small three-month-old Wheaten Terrier mix.

I am staying at the Cape Ann Animal Aid located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, located at Four Paws Lane, Gloucester until I am adopted.    I am learning how to walk on the leash and learning how to climb stairs.  I am very smart.  Like all puppies, I need guidance, patience and love in learning how to be a well mannered pup and I am happy to report I am getting there!  If you might like to meet me, please stop by the shelter.

I know everyone is talking about how much fun the “Winter Ball” was and thanking everyone who attended or supported this fun event!  Please check out website to learn more about our shelter by visiting: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and more importantly, about adoptable cats and dogs like me, Oberon!
