It’s definitely a cool raptor, but alas it’s a Cooper’s Hawk. Not as fast as a Peregrine in a stoop, but incredibly agile. These guys are specialists at chasing down birds in thick cover. Accipiters are fairly falcon-like hawks, and the two are easily confused.

Note that The Gloucester 18 is not the Lifetime movie but a documentary about the real girls themselves. I haven’t seen it but from the blog it does seem that the material and the young women are treated with respect.
Again I have not seen it but this story seems like it is their story in documentary form and not a sensationalized account like the Lifetime movie.
The Gloucester High ROTC program held a meet yesterday in which the teams from 16 communities participated.
