I changed the settings back so our subscribers will get the pictures in the email subscriptions.
The people spoke, they wanted pics in their email. We aim to please so I made the proper readjustments and it will be back to normal email delivery folks.
The one thing I would like to note is that the videos don’t come through in the emails so you might want to check the site directly for those at http://www.goodmorninggloucester.org and bookmark it for east access. I’d hate to think your missing out on any GMG goodness!

one of a pair of wooden pins set upright in the gunwale on either side of a rowing boat to serve as a fulcrum in rowing [Old English tholl]
Tholepin rhythm up the sound,
Leathern fingers grip eight foot oars,
Keen eyes watch along the shores
For bobbing bottles and wooden buoys
Carved with a name and a number that
Holds a tarred warp to a bedroom trap.
Drop and swish, then up the sound,
By noon to row the string around

Jimmy T and his Dory Girls at the beginning of the night. He was giving his welcome speech and introducing the Dory Girls
These photos are from Frank Ciolino (Thanks, Frank!) at the “Winter Races” fundraiser for Gloucester’s International Dory Races.
Committee President Jim Tarantino told me this morning that he’s estimating that the event raised $2000 towards the $30,000 needed for 4 new dories and the 2009 operating expenses.
Acknowledgment awards were presented to Sen. Bruce Tarr, R-Gloucester, the schooner Thomas E. Lannon and Gorton’s.
This is Joey Ciolino and Bill Edmonds trying their luck at the "DOLLAH HAULAH" Table ( Joey won $15 bucks) We lost count on how many Bill won!
Jim also wants everyone to know that his group not only coordinates races held throughout the summer, but also provides free lessons and other educational programs for the city’s middle school children and others interested in dory rowing.

The International Dory events calendar can be seen here.
So if you are interested in rowing (great exercise!) and would like to get out on the water with the experts, be sure to check this out!

Time lapse photography taken with a Canon DSLR. A picture was taken every 2 seconds and when you put all the frames together this is the shot. If anyone has any interesting ideas for this type of photography, post a comment and I will try to put it together. Time lapse lends itself to things that are moving such as a construction site, stadium filling up, etc. Look forward to your comments.

“Today you are you, that is truer than true. there is no one alive who is youer than you.” Anyone know which Dr. Seuss book that’s from?
Well, school’s closed today because of the weather. It’s Dr. Seuss’s birthday and I found lots of activities to do with the kids. Those books, as annoying as they were to read night after night, entertained us all and we learned about life in the process. Share a book with someone today!
