Pleasant Street Tea Co Momma-Friendly

Kudos to the Pleasant Street Tea Co for not only serving up one of the nicest Chocolate Mint Smoothies and yummy little macaroons, but for canceling plans and staying open late for our Crunchy North Shore Parents mommies night out meet-up so we could all hang out and enjoy! Nice!

Fireworks Fund Asks For Donations

Suzanne Silveira Writes-

The Fireworks Committee is far behind in their goal to make this year’s Labor Day weekend fireworks the great show it always has been.  Thankful for donations received, they are urging those that have not contributed to do so now.  All donations, big or small, will be gratefully appreciated.  Contributions are tax deductible and can be sent to The Gloucester Fund, 45 Middle St., Gloucester, MA  01930.  Please note Fireworks Fund on your donation.

The Cape Ann Marina under the tent will host a fundraiser for the Lighted Boat Parade on Friday, August 27th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  The cost for the evening is $10 and includes some great food and music.  There will be a cash bar.  The Lighted Boat Parade held the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend is such a fun event and provides great scenes on the harbor leading up to the fireworks.  This is a community happening and needs your support.  Questions for the fundraiser can be directed to 978-281-0434

Jann and Ed Greenburg Have A Gloucester Tourism Question

Ed Writes-

Hi Joey:

We live across the harbor from Captain Joe’s on Freshwater Cove and could not believe our eyes today at about 12:00 noon when a people packed BHC ( Boston Harbor Cruise) ferry came into the harbor and turned around in front of the Copper Paint factory and proceeded to leave the port abruptly.

Query: Why can’t we arrange for said ferry (ies) to tie up and either stay for a couple of hours or at the very least drop people off in Gloucester and/or take people to Boston ? Isn’t Cruiseport designed to do that? Why can’t we at least be part of the Salem – Boston run. It is hard to see that many people with just as many wallets make such a quick meaningless trip.

Sincerely

Jann & Ed

Anyone wanna take a stab at this one?

The Itsy Bitsy Spiders

When I saw this spider’s web at first I didn’t realize that all the tiny dots around the nest were teeny tiny baby spiders until I got right up on it with my camera.
