Okay, this is a little more difficult than last week’s Where’s Zat. It’s definitely off the beaten path, but some of you will get its location! Good luck! I bet Paul will get it.
As always, thanks for playing Where Zat!

I was brought up to think numbers. Dad got US News and World Report and I couldn’t get enough of charts and graphs and later would go on to major in economics at a business school. It hasn’t been til the later part in my life that I have come to understand just how important Art and the process of creating is to one’s being. Once you start to create, you have a hunger to continue to create and expand upon your medium. It may be hard to explain correctly but once you get that feeling, that desire, it’s not hard at all to understand that hunger and how miserable you can feel if you don’t feed it.
I know it’s from *blech* New York, but this blog has some fantastic photos, watercolors and stories from *blech* New York harbor. Well worth a look. If you are a schooner lover it’s a must visit.
Hedre’s a funny post about “Fishing Boats”- http://bowsprite.wordpress.com/2009/05/01/fishing-boats/
There’s also some beautiful watercolors of the Lettie G- http://bowsprite.wordpress.com/2009/04/19/the-schooners-of-new-york-harbor/
The author lists the Lettie G as the “Schooner Howard G. Lettie”.
I always thought it was the Lettie G Howard, goes to show how much I know about these boats.
For my posts on schooners including the Lettie G when she was in Gloucester click this text
I took this quite a while ago. I think it was with film. There’s a boat light off in the distance. –Sharon

The Greasy Pole walks synonymous with the sporting side of Gloucester’s annual St. Peter’s Fiesta is about to be showcased on the international stage — at least on film.
Four Cape Ann residents are on their way this weekend to the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto, where they will present a film they made on the annual Greasy Pole event.
Along with 11 other teams, the Gloucester-based filmmaking group of Michael Pallazola, Emile Doucette, Tom Papows and Brian Wright was named a finalist in the International Documentary Challenge, a timed filmmaking competition in which teams have five days to make a documentary that runs between 4 and 7 minutes in length. The dozen finalists were picked from 142 competitors based in 16 countries….. Read more here

There has always been an allure surrounding the idea of the lost continent of Atlantis. The possibility of a lost land has captured the attention of books and movies alike. The magnetism of this lost civilization now has caught the attention of Donna Amero and Kathy Bucholska, two local Cape Ann artists. For the past six weeks the two artists have worked on an exhibit, which will be displayed at Local Colors Artists’ Cooperative in Gloucester starting tomorrow with a public reception. There are so many places we would like to hang the wood striper we picked up at Menage Gallery in beautiful Downtown Gloucester.
Where would you place it?
Over the kitchen sink?

When in Naples in April we had The Bean and Snoop Mad sit for David Stevenson on the beach. He posted the session to his website-

The patience this man and his sweetheart wife have is immesurable, but I guess that’s what you’ve got to have if you’re going to shoot a couple of maniac children.
David is going to come to Gloucester and take some pictures aboard lobster boats. I’m looking forward to seeing him and Lana.
