Sat, NOV 14, 3-5 pm: Gordon Goetemann Reception, Cape Ann Museum

Gordon Goetemann, Silence, 2008-2009, from A Narrative of Live and Glory: Mahler’s 2nd Symphony.

The Cape Ann Museum presents an exhibition by local artist Gordon Goetemann whose work was inspired by conductor and composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911). The exhibition titled “A Narrative of Life and Glory” is an exploration of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.

A free public Opening Reception will be held Saturday,November 14, from 3 to 5 p.m.

Nov 27 – Dec 23: Rocky Neck Goes to Town

The Fifth Annual Rocky Neck Winter Exhibit in downtown Gloucester will take place this year from November 27 to December 23 at 117 Main Street in Gloucester. The exhibit features paintings, photographs, ceramics, and jewelry by Rocky Neck Art Colony members.

A Meet the Artist Reception will be held on Sat, Dec. 12, 5-8pm

Sunday, Nov 22: Art Colony Collage Group Meeting

The Rocky Neck Art Colony collage group will meet on Sunday, November 22, from 2 to 4 pm at the home of Judy Robinson-Cox, 5 Haskell Court, Gloucester. Everyone is encouraged to make a collage around the theme women and visibility/invisibility and to bring collage materials that could be incorporated in a collage with the theme of RED (everything doesn’t have to be red).

Sat/Sun, Nov 14-15: “Banana Glam O Rama” Fashion Show

Fundraiser to Support the Restoration of Gloucester City Hall

The Gloucester City Hall Restoration Committee is holding a fundraiser to benefit the continuing work on Gloucester’s most important historic building. A “Banana Glam O Rama Fashion Show” will be held Saturday November 14 and Sunday November 15 in City Hall’s Kyrouz Auditorium.  Saturday night’s celebration is a creative black tie Gala with a Champagne and Dessert Bar. The festivities begin at 7:30 and tickets cost $50.  Sunday offers an afternoon show with non-alcoholic refreshments. The show starts at 4PM and costs $25.
