Deb Clarke’s St Peter’s Thumbprint

From Deb Clarke-
Hello there!  I just finished my commission and thought you might like to see it.  It is dedicated to the memory of my friend Captain Eddie Lima from whom I first heard of St. Peter’s thumbprint.  The painting is of hake.  24×36″, 2 panes of cold glass painted in reverse, with hand silvered mirror, off set on a stretched canvas backing.  the black drawing lines are drawn with a Sharpie Marker on the front of the glass.
Now you know why I love your fish pics.

Ceramic Fish At Bodin Historic Photo On Main Street

Yesterday I got in to see Fred Bodin at Bodin Historic Photo on Main Street In Beautiful Downtown Gloucester.  Fred has all types of fish native to our waters cast in ceramic.  They are very accurate and representative of teh types of the fish right down to the shading and coloring.  This catfish is spot on.  I have a couple of videos from inside Fred’s studio coming up later in the day.

Kyle Browne Art

Yesterday I finally got to meet with Kyle Browne in her studio on Main Street.  I don’t want to try to pretend that I am any sort of art critic.  What I know is when I see something I like or something that inspires me, I give props and Kyle’s work gets major props in my book.

Kyle’s work is fresh and unique and so very inspiring in that she is doing what speaks to her.  She is very connected to the ocean and earth which translates in just about all her pieces.

Growing up here in Gloucester and going through the many galleries over the years I tend to get bored with paintings of boats over and over and over again.  I know oil paintings of schooners probably sell and pay the bills but I find the art from the younger generations to be so much more creative. (god I sound old)

Video with Kyle coming at 1PM
