Strawberry Festival and Plant Sale, Saturday June 1st 9a.m. rain or shine Holy Family Parish (St. Ann’s Yard if shine, Monsignor Sullivan Hall if rain. This year besides all the wonderful plants, homemade goodies, jams, breads, and relishes there will be a Grannies Attic., with such items as vintage dishes, silverware, linens, knick-knacks and household items.
The ladies Guild have been hard at work getting plants ready to sell, not to mention the homemade jelly and jams and lots more. Come and visit Grannies attic for the match to that favorite China tea cup or the tea pot that has been broken, or a linen tablecloth for that special occasion.
Remember Saturday June 1st Rain or Shine St Ann’s Rectory Yard Prospect if Shine or if rain Monsignor Sullivan Hall Pleasant Street if rain.

I don’t mind paying up for great food but the one thing that I will not endorse is paying up for good food but leaving hungry.
When you offer up a pasta dish for $22 and then serve barely 6 ounces of pasta I have a problem. That’s $22 without salad, just the pasta dish. Pasta- as in wheat flour and eggs.
I won’t be back.
I coulda ate a feast at Sista Felicia’s or gone to La Trattoria for better food at a lot less or my favorite Italian restaurant of all time- Vinny’s Superette in Somerville for half the dough and a hundred times better food.
Screw that place. Never going back.

May 28 Kick Off Party for Gloucester’s 2nd Cultural District: HARBORTOWN
Come Celebrate!
The first official event for the Gloucester Harbortown Cultural District will be held on May 28th from 4:00 to 6:30pm at the location of one of our founding partners and cultural assets in the district, Maritime Gloucester on Harbor Loop.
Mayor Carolyn Kirk, City of Gloucester dignitaries, and Massachusetts Cultural Council officials will be in attendance along with the partners and stakeholders.

Decided to start this rainy weekend at Lobsta land with our 2 boys last night. Awesome dinner- We were so psyched to see a great addition to the kids menu- ( which is often the usual pasta, burgers, and chix fingers) Our younger guy Colby ordered the children’s salad with chicken on top. He loved it! Nice to have that great choice! FYI to other families!

Dating myself, I remember back in the early 70s when making the rounds with my mom and sister Felicia we would visit all her Sicilian relatives on Prospect and up on Commonwealth, and they always had their living room furniture sets covered with that hard transparent plastic to protect it.
Never see those plastic furniture covers any more. While talking to Miles Schlicte we were trying to figure out when, if ever they took the covers off the furniture. Was it only for special occasions, or was it when there weren’t children around?
Did you know anyone or have any relatives that had the transparent furniture covers?

In no way shape or form am I trying to be a prick here. It’s just interesting to me and I thought I’d share the fact that there are HUGE numbers of the population that haven’t figured out how to do an online search using a search engine.
I mean it had to take more energy for this kind person to type out the email asking where they can find Hard Merchandise T-Shirts than the energy it would have taken to type “Hard Merchandise T-shirt” into a search engine.
So you know they truly don’t understand how. They’re not being lazy, they just don’t understand that they could Google it.
Here’s a Public Service Announcement for those folks that haven’t figured out how to search for stuff online (an everyday life tool I think you should know about)-
There are other Search engines such as www.bing.com and www.lmgtfy.com you can use to perform searches for things you would like information about or products to buy.
I understand that many of you already understand this but if you saw how many questions a day I get with simple questions that can be answered with far fewer keystrokes you would understand that there are huge chunks of the population for which this tutorial will help immensely.
If we can help just one person understand how to perform an internet search that previously didn’t know how I’ll consider this post a smashing success.

With the number of Kickstarter campaigns spiraling into the stratosphere I’ve decided to launch my own Kickstarter campaign for the very first dedicated Vajazzling Studio In Gloucester.
It’s all the rage. Screw this lobster business crap. Stinky bait, angry lobstermen, early morning start time and long hours vs Vajazzling coochies for a living. Hmmm this is not a very difficult decision.
I’ll just need a back up man to take care of the not-so-attractive patrons. Paulie Walnuts is looking for work. Bingo! Paulie Walnuts and me Vajazzling coochies all over the North Shore.
Help me make my Vajazzling dream a reality. Look for my upcoming Gloucester based Vajazzling Kickstarter campaign which will be forthcoming. I will offer many levels of pledges starting with base level backers and working our way up to more comprehensive “rewards” for more substantial backers.

Vernon Sanders Law (1930- )
An Idaho native ordained in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at an early age, Law pitched for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1950 to 1967. During the 1960 season he went 20-9 with a 3.08 ERA, winning the Cy Young Award and beating the Yankees twice in the World Series. In 1965 his work on and off the field was recognized with the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award. Law is also cited as the originator of the quote “A winner never quits and a quitter never wins.” He is currently the pitching coach at Provo (Utah) High School.
