In light of last weekend’s rededication/25th anniversary of the Fishermen’s Wives Memorial and the annual Fishermen’s Memorial ceremony, I took a later afternoon walk to check out the Fishermen’s Wives statue decked out in gorgeous floral arrangements. The following morning in the pre-dawn hours I was wide awake and did the same at the Fishermen’s Memorial. I thought those of you from away might like to see.

You have most likely have heard this beautiful song about Gloucester . They sang it at the Memorial Service at the Fishermen’s Statue on Saturday . I guess they sing it every year . I had not heard it before .
Gloucester – my favorite place on earth !

We took a little stroll around the Harbor Loop recently. Always something fun to look at. I always recommend this to our visitors during my shift at the Stage Fort Park Welcome Center.

One of the most fascinating qualities of horses is their ability to reflect what we’re feeling.
If we’re tense, they often become cautious.
If we’re distracted, they may lose focus.
When we become grounded, breathe deeply, and relax, they frequently soften right along with us.
This isn’t magic—it’s communication.
Horses are experts at reading body language, breathing patterns, muscle tension, and emotional energy. Their honest feedback gently reminds us to become more aware of our own emotional state.
In many ways, they become living mirrors.
Step away from the noise of everyday life and give yourself the gift of time with horses. At our serene boutique farm in Ipswich, Equine Assisted Wellness sessions offer a peaceful space to slow down, reconnect, and simply be—surrounded by the grounding presence of horses and nature. Come as you are, breathe a little deeper, and discover what can unfold when horse and human meet in harmony. We’d love to welcome you to join the herd.
