A 14-year girl had her birthday party at magnolia Pier. Fun time jumping off the pier and fishing. There were about 20 kids having a salty party. These kids are enjoying themselves outside, ocean air and exercise. No tablets just fun.

Publick House at The Cut will open seven days a week for lunch and dinner beginning September 1
GLOUCESTER, MA — The Cut is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Publick House, bringing an elevated, full-service restaurant and bar experience to 177 Main Street in downtown Gloucester. Publick House is the group’s second restaurant and the partnership will marry The Cut’s recent BONS award of Best Sports Bar and Coolest Night out Vibes with the hospitality group’s experience of creating exceptional dining experiences.
Beginning September 1, Publick House at The Cut will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, welcoming concertgoers, local residents and North Shore visitors alike.
One of Publick House’s partners, Brian Zarthar, said: “What immediately attracted us to The Cut was that it is so much more than a restaurant. Tom and his team have created a really special gathering place in downtown Gloucester, and we’re excited about the opportunity to build on what they’ve created. Our goal is to bring our hospitality experience to the restaurant and bar while working together to make The Cut an even stronger destination for great food, live entertainment, sports and events. We’re incredibly excited to become part of the Gloucester and greater Cape Ann community and can’t wait to get started September 1.”
Guests can expect an exciting new menu curated by Chef Nick Dowling, featuring creative coastal dishes such as sweet corn and haddock chowder alongside expertly prepared pub favorites like classic fish and chips. The restaurant’s refreshed food, beverage and hospitality program will elevate the space while preserving the welcoming energy that has made The Cut one of the region’s most distinctive gathering places.
“We are really excited to partner with Publick House and introduce this next chapter at The Cut,” said The Cut’s owner, Tom O’Grady. “Our goal has always been to create a destination where people can come together over great food, live entertainment and unforgettable experiences. Publick House shares that vision, and we cannot wait for our guests to experience what Chef Nick and his team are creating.”
The Cut Live will continue booking an exciting lineup of live performances, and the restaurant and venue will remain available for weddings, corporate gatherings, celebrations and other private rentals. Together, The Cut Live and Publick House will offer guests a seamless destination for dining, entertainment and special events—all under one roof.
The Cut also extends its sincere gratitude to Bravo2 for its outstanding pop-up residency. The Bravo2 team brought tremendous energy, creativity and hospitality to the space, and The Cut is deeply appreciative of its partnership and support during this transitional chapter.
Publick House at The Cut opens September 1 at 177 Main Street in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Additional information, menus and reservation details will be announced soon.
