Schooner sailing by Magnolia Beach

My afternoon workspace on Friday was glorious as usual.  Another beautiful beach day.  A surprise visit from a schooner went sailing by.  It looked like the Denis K. Sullivan but not sure.

Late Summer Hummers

Hummingbirds are typically very active in the later part of summer and they’ve been showing up in our backyard in full numbers. I find the females (known by their white neck–no red) to be curious and less skittish than their male counterparts so it gives me some extra time for observation. It’s unusual for me to see two together sitting relatively still long enough for a photo such as you see here. They’ll be around a while longer so enjoy them while you can.
