Tonno has a March Madness I can get behind. I was at the bar at Tonno last night after a GMG livestream and their March special caught my eye. Get in there soon and try the March Madness Martini and appetizer combo. It is a perfect pairing of winter cured salmon, candied lemon mascarpone, pickled red onion, pepper jam, crispy capers, grilled bread served with an icy Cucumber gin fizz, house infused cucumber gin, Prosecco, chareau aloe liqueur, and lemon juice for $22. Yes, please. I’m not often a gin drinker, but the cocktail was perfectly refreshing and the appetizer, as you can hopefully tell by the photo, was super light, fresh, and delicious.

Audrey’s Flowers a Big Hit

Nothing says Happy Birthday quite like a delivery of fresh flowers, particularly for the last birthday at work before retirement. Congratulations to my sister Paula Ryan O’Brien on her birthday and upcoming retirement! It was a pleasure for me to make a visit to Audrey’s to order a flower arrangement. It’s always an uplifting experience in there and there’s so much more to Audrey’s than simply flowers! So many little gifts and friendly staff make it a no-brainer stop. And I treated myself to some of the lovely tulips as well. Thanks, Heather and staff! And Happy Birthday and Retirement to Paula!

A special shoutout and sincere thank you to all the local businesses and organizations who have stepped up and donated to Cape Ann LIVE! to help defray the costs of livestreaming the local high school sports games this year. The broadcast team (Lisa Olson, Phil Nicastro, John Russ and myself) really enjoy doing this and hopefully you’ve all enjoyed viewing the great year the local teams have been having.
