WMWM Radio at Salem State was started by a man named Walter Murphy.
Hence the call letters. I was a DJ there in the summer of 1978.
I jokingly told people WMWM stood for We Make Women Mothers.

Great history here – I remember AM station out of Salem in the late 60’s same one? I know many stations went to FM and boost the power. I remember on out of OK (no relation) (KOMA) nighttime wow… Dave:-) & Kim 🙂
