BREAKING: MAYOR SEFATIA ROMEO THEKEN OFFICIALLY THROWS HER HAT INTO THE MAYORAL RACE

Mayor Romeo Theken made the announcement from her office at City Hall that she has officially entered the race for Mayor. She joins City Councilors Paul McGeary and Greg Verga. To be listed on the ballot, a candidate must return nomination papers by August 11th for the November 3rd election. A primary will be held on September 29th.

  4. Sorry, but I cannot support anyone who pledged not to run as a pretense of being appointed interim Mayor, regardless of who it is. Integrity is a dying personal attribute in politics.

    1. MAJack, do you know why you would have to pledge NOT to run for Mayor in a regular election if you are appointed Interim Mayor? What’s the reasoning for that? I am not challenging it, I am really just wondering.

For those of you that are hung up on “If you change your mind, you have no integrity” I say “BULL MANIGY” We change our minds hundreds of times during the day based on new information, like traveling into Rockport and finding the beach traffic is so bad, another rout is necessary! 10 days before the wedding you find your soon to be spouse has been shacking up with all your friends, wedding is off! You swore you were not going to put the dog down, but you do for it is in so much pain. You decide to run for public office because you truly believe out of all the candidates running, you are the one that would bring more to the table for the people of Gloucester. Go Girl !!!!!!
