The Gloucester High School Cheerleaders are holding a Cheerleading mini camp on July 28, 29 & 30. It is open to all children grades K-8 and will be held at the Gloucester High School from 9-2. The cost is $80. The camp is run by the Varsity and JV teams. The kids play fun games, learn proper stunting techniques, learn a routine and perform on the last day. Everyone from neighboring communities on the North Shore are welcome to attend! Email cbrancaleone@yahoo.com for a registration form. MCGEARY IS CERTIFIED FOR MAYORAL BALLOT
City Council President Paul McGeary is the first mayoral candidate to have submitted enough voters’ signatures to qualify to be on the ballot for the 2015 municipal elections.
In a letter sent to McGeary and dated July 2, Assistant Registrar of Voters Marie Giambanco said that more than 900 signatures had been certified from the nomination papers submitted by the campaign. The signatures of 300 registered voters are required for a candidate’s name to appear on the ballot.
“I am deeply gratified at the effort put in by our volunteers and the support shown for our campaign by the voters of Gloucester,” McGeary said.
“I believe our campaign’s strength is its broad appeal to all voters across the city and the amount of signatures we gathered is a demonstration of that support. I look forward to carrying our message of economic growth, support for education and sound government to the voters in the fall.”
