A fair heads-up to all dog owners! Your responsibilities as an owner doesn’t change during the winter. Even when you think nobody is around, they are. And they’re watching you. Even during today’s conditions, the police where giving out $100.00 citations today to people not picking up their poop. Meanwhile, Ruby was having a blast! Icebergs over 2 1-/2 ft tall!

I was given a fair warning about what days are off-leash days by a very kind woman from the GPD/Animal control. Good Harbor is EVEN days off-leash, and Wingaersheek is ODD numbered days. If you get caught leaving, or covering up ya poop, you will get a $100 ticket, no excuses!! This is our amazing island, let’s not trash it up! Any questions about anything, call them at 978-281-9746.

I am not a dog owner so appreciate the rules and those who follow them. My question is, why were the dogs off leash today at good harbor when it is an odd numbered day? Off leash today was at Wingearsheek.

Thanks anonymous! It’s because I like to brake the law! (and some dog’s will not poop on leash) That’s why I mentioned the fair warning I was given. Because she’s been trapped for days on end, and can’t run inside, (and nobody was on the entire beach at the time), we let them loose to run. She’s an extremely well trained dog, and she will return to me with a whistle call every time. If I had an untrained dog, and one that didn’t return on command, I would never let her off leash. Rebel with 4 paws.

Lot easier to pick up snow poop too if they do go!! You all do a much better job that way, than they do here believe me!!! – We have lot’s of strays and really no dog laws, poop in many locations and in a park with little kids a no, no!! …I still rather step in poop than gum myself, but I try to watch my step always…at my age falls hurt more…

When living in Gloucester,I jogged Good harbor Beach..I took all my plastic bags and added them to the bag at the foot bridge for dog owners to use..CC
