  1. That would sure be a belly full of great title and Mary above sealed the deal for the topping! 🙂 Dave & Kim:-)

P.S. Mom remembers when the Lanesville post office was a malt shop a couple of door’s up from Fred Sarri’s now a grinder shop I believe…This is where we went as kids for salt water taffy and penny candy ice cream the Mom & Pops place. Kenny’s store was for the food shopping then right down from Tucker street and had another store going up toward Andrews corner and the olds lane school had a stone wall close by – Mc Phersons’s (Sp)? I believe.

I remember found a $20.00 bill on the floor corner and gave it to Fred. He said if no one claimed it in 30 days it would be mine. Seeing $20.00 dollars was a lot in 1961 minimum wages were $1.15 hr or something like that. I must have went to Fred’s every day during those 30 days…on the 31st he handed me the $20.00. Mom – held it for me or I would spend in all on the neighborhood kids, like I used to do with my paper route money from Gloucester Daily times! That’s a lot of comic books, cokes, ding dongs, candy and Wise Owl Potato chips, or yes Borden Ice cream too. I guess that’s where I learned from the native Indian custom to carry in one hand and share with the other. Considered bad manners to carry in both tradition did this with food also – exceptions of course during work etc!

What a great store owner us kids loved him and wife watched over us like a Grandfather & Grandmother did and the wisdom and lessons worth more than a million bucks! Rest in Peace Fred and god bless you!

There are other memories like this but those are like what the Capt Miller Said to Private Ryan before fight (Captain Miller: No, no that one I save just for me).

    All about foundation!

    🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂
