Portraits from the Boston Marathon: 2013

I heard the bombs explode from  two blocks away as I was taking portraits of runners after they finished the marathon.  The tone of my images quickly changed as I documented the reactions of the athletes and the spectators.

    Very intense – when we lived in Somerville early 1954-1957 mom worked in a store by Copley Square I was a little too young to remember this area in those years but later went back and recalled some memories.
