  1. Everyone is for better cell coverage. The thing here though is that the cell tower company wants to put up a 15-story tower on top of an open-top 100′ hill, only a half mile from the Essex River. That’s going to make it very visible from within beautiful Essex bay, where there are no cell towers now visible on the shoreline. And if anyone enjoys the scenic vistas of the coastline at Sunset Mtn & Eagle Rock (Thomson Street Reservation), Red Rocks Conservation area, or Mount Ann, this tall tower will be directly in-between those summits and the water, spoiling the awesome views. There has to be a balance between need and tower height/location. I feel like the kneejerk reaction here is ‘better coverage sounds good to me’ but folks should do their homework before the cell tower company gets away with a monster pole designed to reach the NH border and it is too late.

  2. Great post!
Over here in South Korea in the mountains with both solar panels and lights battery backups, along with Existing high rise apartments and building you will find a lot of towers with repeaters-signal booster’s…Extremely wired this way Wi-FI and signals everywhere almost unless in the building that are shielded or no towers….terrain poor signal Line of sight (LOS) in some cases.
