Sunset over the Moraine Farm greenhouse
Beverly, MA –October 13, 2014 – Moraine Farm, a property of The Trustees of Reservations, is offering Fall Farm Shares. Located in North Beverly, just minutes off 128 at exit 20, the farm provides local residents, area school children, and local food pantries with seasonal farm-fresh produce and provides community members of all ages meaningful volunteer opportunities.
With a successful summer growing season behind them, the Moraine farmers are turning their attention to feeding local communities into the chilly months of November and December. Farm Manager Gretta Anderson notes, “Most folks who appreciate locally-grown produce in the summer, dread returning to the grocery store in the fall. The quality, flavor and nutrition of local veggies just can’t be matched. Our long-term goal is to supply our members with local vegetable year-round.” Moraine Farm’s customers include the Beverly and Salem public schools, as well as members of their Community Supported Agriculture program.
Farm Shares, also known as Community Supported Agriculture or CSA shares, are available for November and December on-farm pick ups. Members purchase a “share” of the fall harvest now. Then they come to the farm to pick up their share of the harvest and enjoy the historic Olmsted designed landscape. Fall Farm Shares are distributed every-other-Saturday afternoon beginning November 8. Friday afternoon pick ups are also available.
Sign on today to be a part of the Moraine Farm community! To purchase your Fall Farm Share and to learn more about the farm visit http://www.thetrustees.org/morainefarm or email Farm Manager Gretta Anderson, ganderson@ttor.org.
