I'm Marty Luster, a retired attorney and politician. In 2010 my wife, mother-in-law, dog and I relocated from Central NY to Gloucester. I hope my photographs and poetry(?) reflect my love for this place and her people. My picture-poem posts can be seen at http://matchedpairs.wordpress.com and selected black and white images can be found at http://slicesoflifeimages.wordpress.com View all posts by Marty Luster

Glad to see Ms A is getting the care she needs !

The Phyllis A. is in the midst of a rebuild being funded by the citizens of Gloucester through a (actually 2!) Community Preservation Act grants.
Toward the bow, to the left of the stanchion work in progress, you will see a chain plate (a vertical piece of metal). This has been removed and will be replaced with new. This chain plate is original, installed in 1925 by Bernie Woodman, the builder of the Phyllis A.
We will label and keep this chain plate as an artifact of the vessel. We will be replacing what we need to replace but will keep as much of the original parts as possible. Artifacts will be stored and displayed in the future.
Drop down to the Gloucester Marine Railways, Rocky Neck to see the work being done! The whole gang will be there to show you around on Saturday, September 20th and 27th from 10am to 3PM, during Sails and Trails weekends! See you then!
