ADVENTURE has only two masts and no bowsprit. This must be another vessel. Maybe someone with AIS can tell us.

Classic Sailing Schooner ATLANTIC – Van Der Graaf BV
Yacht Charter Description
The 2010 Sailing yacht Atlantic is magnificent replica of the 1903 William Gardner designed three-masted sailing schooner Atlantic, owned by Ed Kastelein. The 1903 sailing schooner was a long time World record holder for the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean under sail in 1905 winning the Kaiser’s Cup from New York to The Lizard. The record held firm for almost a century, when it was broken in 1998. It is the longest standing speed record in the Yachting History.

It was the schooner yacht Atlantic. When we sailed past her on the Ardelle, we were signaled very enthusiastically by the crew! You can read more about the vessel here: http://www.schooner-atlantic.com/

It was the schooner yacht Atlantic, a reproduction of a 1903 vessel that in 1905 set the record for crossing the Atlantic under sail that stood for over 90 years. Beautiful! Just here overnight. This reproduction is 185 feet on deck. To give an idea…the Lannon is 65 feet on deck. We exchanged some cannon fire with them on Thursday. Our cannon is bigger!
