TWO BLACK LABS LOST

Hi Joey,
My husband and two sons are holding 2 black labs by 59 Eastern Pt. Rd. They said the dogs obviously look lost …cant get close to check their tags because they are a bit snippy right now-We have had no luck with animal control or police- we cant keep them because we already have 2 black labs of our own. We hate to let them go for fear of being hit by a car. Could you please post this? Our

home phone is 978 281 3050
ThanksBarbara Kelly

Sorry no… UPDATE  we had to let them go… unfortunately. Here’s some important info for our friends with dogs… if your dog or dogs get lost on a Sunday… you are out of luck. Police refer you to animal control which does not have coverage on Sunday. After 4pm,Cape Ann Animal aid is closed… perhaps writing your phone number with permanent marker on your dog’s collar would be useful.

  1. I bought from the internet a collar for my black lab. It has his name and my cell number woven into the collar. Majic markers etc. just don’t do the trick. I wish I had read this earlier….I would have been happy to take the two BL into my home until the owners came forward.

    1. Hi Ed-
One looked like a mixed lab male. The other was a much smaller whippet type female. Both black with some white markings. They definitely knew each other but would not tolerate even other dogs. We got them out of the street and cornered them on someone’s porch. We are wicked dog people and would have brought them to our house until claimed. However…they were not cooperative at all. Any attempt to approach them with a leash was met with growls and a couple lunges. We waited on the porch for a call back from anyone who could help us (fed them treats and gave them water) but eventually my 9 and 12 year old kids were cold and hungry. Had we been at home we could have held them indefinitely.but we weren’t and there was really nothing else we could do.but let them go.

Only the little whippet had a collar but that did not have a tag or a number otherwise we would have called the owner then sat with them until we got a call back.

We have the woven collars for our dogs and they are awesome. Sharpie works but you have to go back over it every couple months or so.

We hope the dogs are OK, it broke our hearts to have to let them go on their way.
