On April 21 2013 starting at 9 am, Ambie Orlando will be having the first annual clean up Burnhams Field event. What we will be doing is cleaning up the field of trash and debris so that everyone can see the true beauty in the field. If your child or anyone for that matter uses the field we would love for you to come down and help out. We are recommending you bring down maybe a rake and shovel and if you could some power equipment like blowers and weed whackers that would be an even bigger help. Thank you in advance for your help it is greatly appreciated.

Sidewalk Sweeping is on April 20th, the Clean City Initiative and the Building Center of Gloucester asks every resident and business to sweep the sand from their sidewalks for the city to come and take it away.
What is the Eco-Trip?
It’s a scavenger hunt from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 around downtown Gloucester. You’ll walk to eight businesses and solve a puzzle that will reveal one way they are taking care of the environment.
What businesses are sponsoring the Eco-Trip?

Why should I participate?
You’ll have fun while exercising your brain and body! You’ll learn what Gloucester businesses are doing to lessen their carbon footprints. You’ll have a chance to win a gift from a local business and enjoy light refreshments at the after party at Latitude 43.
How will I know where to go?
You’ll sign in at the Friend Room of the Sawyer Free Library and get a map showing the businesses’ locations. You’ll plan your own route from there. We’ll meet for the after party at Latitude 43 between 2:30 and 3 p.m.
Do I have to travel alone?
You can choose to play solo or in a team of 2 to 4 people. If you register by yourself and want to play as part of a team, we will assign you to a team when you sign in on April 20.
Will kids enjoy the Eco-Trip?
The Eco-Trip (1 ½ mile walk) and puzzles have been designed for adults and for middle and high school students. It’s up to you to gauge your child’s interest and stamina. Children age 13+ should pay the $10 registration fee.
How does my team win?
The Eco-Trip is not a race. The goal is to solve the puzzles. Teams that solve all eight puzzles will be entered in a drawing during the party at Latitude 43 for first pick of the prizes. Teams that solve three or more puzzles will be entered into a drawing to select from among the remaining prizes.
I want to play! How do I register? How much does it cost? Click on the Eco-Trip link at the Eco-Trip Registration page, fill out the short form and pay by credit card via PayPal. Each Eco-Trip player will pay a $10 fee before April 13. After that, players will pay $15. The Eco-Trip is a fundraiser for the Cape Ann TimeBank.
What is the Cape Ann TimeBank?
The Cape Ann TimeBank is a group of individuals and businesses that strengthen the community by offering their services to each other and to community groups. For every hour of service a member offers, s/he is eligible to ask for an hour of help in return.
Where can I park?
Gloucester has 10-hour parking meters (.50/hour) and a parking lot on Rogers Street below the Fitz Henry Lane house and across from the police station.
Is there a rain date?
No, we’re going to hold the Eco-Trip rain or shine. After all, rain is an integral part of our ecology!
