Took the Ferry From Positano to Capri. Beautiful ride- 38 euros for the two of us plus the one large suitcase we brought.
It is amazing to me how very distinct each of these places are along the Amalfi Coast. Each one more beautiful than the next.
Here is how I would rate them (even though rating them is totally subjective)
Praiano<Amalfi<Positano<Ravello<Capri
Rating them from least favorite to favorite might give the wrong impression that any one of them is not spectacular in its own right- they are all amazing places.
Capri is bustling with high end dining and shopping. The kind of shopping that is way out of our budget but is still cool to look in the windows. It is very active on one side and then on the other side of the island it is tranquil and there are long paths cut into the mountains that lead down to the sea.
I don't know who paid to have all of the beautiful parks and walkways done or how long ago but I'm continually awestruck at the beauty of the architecture and landscaping.
The people from Italy that come to the US must look down at us for not having one tenth of the imagination and creativity to create beautiful spaces that they do here. Everywhere. We have it in certain spaces but here in Italy the attention to aesthetically pleasing spaces is everywhere.
