We’ll have door prizes, a new video from NASA on Saturn and the Cassini spacecraft, followed by a presentation by our own Steve K on what’s up in the winter sky. And of course there will be plenty of Christmas goodies to eat and lots of good conversation. The public is always welcome; you don’t have to know anything about astronomy to have a great time. I have been so excited the past few days. The reason is when as an artist you feel proud of the work you are producing it’s just a great feeling. I knew the images I selected for our show at Alchemy Thursday night were some of my favorites but when James printed them and I saw the colors he was able to reproduce with his 11 color machine it took my excitement t a whole new level.
I’m thrilled, just thrilled to be working with James and Anna Eves at Cape Ann Giclee.
hope to see all our friends at the opening Thursday night from 5:30-7:30 at Alchemy for EJ and My “Two Buddies” Show.

December 13th is Santa Lucia Day Learn more About The Day Here
From wikipedia-
St. Lucia is the patron saint of the city of Syracuse (Sicily), where she was born. Celebrations take place on the 13th of December and in May. St. Lucy is also popular among children in some regions of North-Eastern Italy, namely Trentino, East Lombardy (Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona and Mantua), parts of Veneto, (Verona), parts of Emilia-Romagna, (Piacenza, Parma and Reggio Emilia), and all of Friuli, where she brings gifts to good children and coal to bad ones the night between December 12 and 13. She arrives in the company of a donkey and her escort, Castaldo. Children are asked to leave some coffee for Lucia, some flour for the donkey and bread for Castaldo. They must not watch Santa Lucia delivering these gifts, or she will throw ashes in their eyes, temporarily blinding them. In Sicily and among the Sicilian diaspora, cuccìa is eaten in memory of Saint Lucy’s miraculous averting of famine.
Or you could both go this weekend. If you’ve never seen Holiday Delights before, don’t miss it this year. No, it’s not JUST for parents of kids who are in it. This is a professional production that you will actually enjoy. And when you see one of these young actors in a major film, you’ll be able to say, I saw that kid when . . . Plus, If you bring your kids (and grandkids) they’ll just love it!

You’re overwhelmed. So are we. That’s why we’ve got an itinerary that you can follow to make sure you get everything you really want to do into tonight. It’s good practice for tomorrow (Men’s night in case you haven’t been paying attention).
For those of you who like to start early, it’s dinner at Jalapenos GCA fundraiser at 5pm. While you’re there, enter to win some great prizes pictured to the right. You don’t have to be present when the prizes are drawn in order to win. Just be sure your name is on the raffle ticket.
At 6:30 catch the PART 1 premiere of Dan King on his Local Music Seen with Allen Estes farewell tribute with special guest J.B. Amero that we previewed in this post. You can run home to catch the show, or, better yet, ask the bar manager where ever you are to turn the TV to Channel 12.
Then at 7, head over to Alchemy to see Chelsea Berry and drop off a toy for the Pathways Toy Drive.
Finish up the night at with Fly Amero and his 80s rock star guest Jon Butcher at the Rhumb Line. Whew!
Then be sure to get plenty of rest so you can start all over tomorrow at Men’s Night.
Since the symmetry of today’s date and time will never happen again unless we start using Unix code.
The word “twelve” is the largest number with a single-morpheme name in English. Etymology suggests that “twelve” (similar to “eleven“) arises from the Germanic compound twalif “two-leftover”, so a literal translation would yield “two remaining [after having ten taken]”.[1] This compound meaning may have been transparent to speakers of Old English, but the modern form “twelve” is quite opaque. Only the remaining tw- hints thattwelve and two are related.
Last year our sister city Gloucester, England asked its citizens what were the 12 coolest buildings in their city and came up with a list. What would be on your list of 12 for our island?
