WEST END WALK
Her shadow preceded her by many feet
as she whisked up Main Street in the still West End,
strongly backlit by the sun low in the sky.
The glare also gave brief life to the streetlights
and they glowed as if they were old gas lamps, not
those a modern day designer has copied.
Facades and doorways and holiday wreaths were
accented by the intense low rays of the
same sun that shined when these buildings were first built.
It seemed odd to me that a person should be
moving so quickly through a momentary
scene that the strobe- light sun sought to freeze in time.

Nice photograph Marty. Good to see you and Barbara last night. I’m thinking there was something about this party that was more than just a party. Thoughts anyone?

Thank you Fred, and thanks for your hospitality.
You’re onto something. I think that GMG is more than a blog – it’s a movement; one that’s centered around our love for our home, our respect for each other and our appreciation for all that is beautiful. We thrive on art, humor and knowledge. We learn from and inspire each other. In short, we have found the things that really matter.
I think all of that was present last night, and Barbara and I thank Joey and each and every one of you for allowing us to be part of it.
