Let’s Settle This With a Poll- At What Age Do Parents Give The Birds and The Bees Talk?

Over breakfast the other morning one of our contributors shared the fact that a youngster in her family had confessed to having sex, matter of factly.
So I posed the question-

At what age do you give the birds and the bees speech?  Your thoughts?

At what age do you offer to assist your kid with getting condoms or on “the pill”?  Your thoughts?

  1. Parents need to talk with their kids as early as possible. Studies show
Kids are having intercourse as early as 11. For reasons of safety, information,
And self esteem, we need to be proactive even if it’s uncomfortable for us.

  2. I agree with Deb. And that goes hand in hand with educating our kids about preventing an unwanted pregnancy. Helping your child obtain birth control is a far better option to that of taking your teenage daughter to her prenatal visits. Condoms should be easily accessible to both boys and girls to help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
