Tho’ much is taken, much abides; and tho’
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
Alfred Lord Tennyson, ULYSSES

The Ulysses quote is so appropro….but another comes to my mind…”The Untold Want” by Walt Witman. “The untold want by life and land ne’er granted, Now voyager sail thou forth to seek and find.” This is what black and white photography does…it allows several thoughts to claim the scene.
